JOB SUMMARY
Performs the head custodial functions of making minor repairs, keeping building neat and clean, maintains custodial supplies and supervises custodial staff. The Head Custodian secures the building and doors and sets the security and the alarm systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Medium work: Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: visual acuity, hearing, speaking, feeling, manual dexterity, sitting, and standing. Duties may require other physical demands depending on the situation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Job is usually performed inside heated, well-lighted building; however, work is also performed outdoors such as sweeping walkways, mowing lawn, and shoveling snow. Working with machines can be noisy and some tasks, such as cleaning restrooms can be dirty and unpleasant. Problems solved are building oriented and are frequently urgent in nature. Most problems are considered routine. The Head Custodian has responsibility for identifying and removing hazards that affect visitors of the building.
